Columbia Global Centers | Mumbai has launched one if its flagship initiatives, the Urban Works Innovation Challenge in partnership with Columbia Engineering- the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science at Columbia University in the City of New York. We seek to support young professionals and entrepreneurs over a period of six months to design environment-friendly and sustainable solutions for next-generation workspaces in India. The Innovation Challenge is aimed at producing viable and interdisciplinary design-concepts for transforming 21st century workspaces into environments that support innovation and productivity. In the inaugural edition in 2018, participants are encouraged to design innovative solutions for sustainable workspaces in the broad categories of green technologies and infrastructure, decentralized energy-efficient solutions, ergonomics, and sustainable resource use and waste/pollution reduction. This program will not only provide participants an opportunity to work on inter-disciplinary creative concepts, but also provide them a robust peer learning experience and hands-on mentorship from distinguished entrepreneurs and academics.
